1 day Emergency first aid course
A one day Certificated First Aid Course, formerly known as the appointed person's course, now known as emergency first aid. The course syllabus is as required under the First Aid Regulations 1981.

4 day first aid at work
This is a four day first aid at work qualifying course as required by the First Aid Regulations.
The cost is £1200 ( inclusive of VAT and certification ) up to a maximum of 12 delegates

2 day Paediatric first aid
This is a first aid course for child carers leading to a certificate which is valid for three years. The training course lasts 2 days.

GK Safety offer First Aid Training Courses Throughout the UK.
1 Day Appointed Persons First Aid Course
A one day certificated first aid course, formerly known as the appointed person's course, now known as emergency first aid. The course syllabus is as required under the First Aid Regulations 1981.
Course Content
The course is designed to last for 6 hours and complies with the legal requirements of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course consists of mainly practical work in the following areas:
- Legislation/ Record Keeping
- Priorities of First Aid
- First aid equipment
- Duties of a First Aider
- Actions in emergencies
- Basic Life Support & CPR
- The unconscious casualty
- Treatment for wounds and bleeding
- Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries
- Treatment for burns and scalds
- Treatment for Shock
Assessment
Delegates will be continually assessed by their tutor throughout the course

This is a four day first aid at work qualifying course as required by the First Aid Regulations.
Course Content
The delegate will be taught in the following key areas based on first aid in the workplace. The course will be tailored to individual workplaces where appropriate. Subjects taught:
- Legislation/ Record Keeping
- Accident Approach
- Dealing with unconsciousness
- Treating someone who has stopped breathing and whose heart has stopped
- Dealing with wounds & bleeding
- Looking after a casualty who is shocked
- Recognising medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy & asthma
- Treating broken bones and soft tissue injuries
- Recognising hypothermia and treating it
- Looking after burns and scalds
- How to help a poisoned victim
- Obtaining advanced medical assistance
- Legislation and first aid kits
- AED & Substances (where appropriate) Assessment
Assessment
Delegates will be continually assessed by their tutor throughout the course. At the end of the course delegates will be assessed twice in their practical skills (CPR & Injury) by external assessor(s). Upon successful completion of these assessments the delegate will be awarded a HSE First Aid at Work certificate which will be valid for three years.

2 Day Nursery Nurses/ Child Carers/ Paediatric Course to Basic Life Support
This is a first aid course for child carers leading to a certificate which is valid for three years. The training course lasts 2 days ( 12 hours)
Course Content
- Accident Approach
- Dealing with unconsciousness
- Treating someone who has stopped breathing and whose heart has stopped
- Dealing with wounds & bleeding
- Looking after a casualty who is shocked
- Recognising medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy & asthma
- Treating broken bones and soft tissue injuries
- Recognising hypothermia and treating it
- Looking after burns and scalds
- How to help a poisoned victim
- Obtaining advanced medical assistance
- Legislation, Ofsted, NCMA & PLA policy and first aid kits
- Dealing with sudden illness in children
- First Aid for specific medical conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, allergies, asthma, meningitis, sickle cell & haemophilia.
- Dealing with convulsions and fits
Assessment
Delegates will be continually assessed by their tutor throughout the course. At the end of the course delegates will be assessed twice in their practical skills (CPR & Injury). Upon successful completion of these assessments the delegate will be awarded a Paediatric First Aid certificate which will be valid for three years.
